The Sea

The ship rocked in the middle of the sea,

Where was I outside this darkness, I wondered,

The waves I heard, the wind I felt, the horizon I could not see,

Again, where was I outside this darkness, I wondered.

Under the starry night, the waves was at its best,

A calm lullaby for a peaceful sleep,

The chilling wind blew gently through the deck,

There was no danger no fear no worries.

The captain told me a story,

Going to the sea had been his living,

A living he made for years,

Not one day he ever stops praying.

He knew the danger ahead,

He had hoped he won’t live to experience it,

But one night his nightmare began,

On his dear life and hope he kept on clinging.

The rain poured and the waves were unusually strong,

On a rocking ship, he held on tight,

He pulled up his anchor ready to go,

He knew it would be tough ride.

‘I thought it was my last journey,’

He shivered with the thoughts,

‘The storm was so strong, I panicked,’

Something he had never experience before.

‘The water smashed the window, the water kept coming in.’

A scary thought he was trying to fight,

He would make it, he wouldn’t give in,

Two ships were trying to get to a safe place,

It was his longest ride ever.

But he kept his job anyways,

He had a ship and he wouldn’t trade it for others,

Be a captain every night every day,

In a ship, he is everyone’s brother.

I slept peacefully that night,

But I prayed to God in heaven,

To lead the captain under this twilight,

And for strength, for protection, for safe return.

The Hail Mary – Explanation

It was sometimes in 2014 I believed, when I picked up the book titled ‘The Secret Of The Holy Rosary’ written by St Louis De Montfort.  I found it somewhere…in the house.  I can’t remember how I found it though…but what thing is for sure;  we have this book in the house all along.  It is a very old book, but a very good one and a very important one.  It’s funny because during those time, I was trying to look for books written by St Louis – mostly about devotion to the Virgin Mary.  I guess I was searching deep inside.  You can imagine how thrill I was when i found that book…it was like everything was all planned.  However, I do believe everything happens for a reason, there is nothing such as pure luck or coincidence.  I’ll take it as answered prayer, though I am not sure I was praying for it.  Anyways, Rosary had been part of my family.  Dad insisted that we should have Rosary prayer together every night – Which is good, though sometimes I … tried to escape it.

This book changed the way I pray my Rosary.  I cannot deny I’m still struggling to continue with the devotion and say it attentively, but I am trying to pray it with intention.  I never knew there are so much fruits and graces in this devotion.  It is not just that, there is so much more, I just don’t know how to explain it.  I want to share to you one of the chapters that I really love.

Twentieth Rose

Are you in the miserable state of sin? Then call on the divine Mary and say to her: Ave, which means “I salute thee with the most profound respect, thou who art without sin” and she will deliver you from the evil of your sins.

Are you groping in the darkness of ignorance and error? Go to Mary and say to her: Hail Mary; which means “Hail thou who art bathed in the light of the Sun of Justice” – and she will give you some of her light.

Have you strayed from the path leading to heaven? Then call on Mary, for her name means “Star of the Sea, the North Star which guides the ships of our souls during the voyage of this life,” and she will guide you to the harbor of eternal salvation.

Are you in sorrow? Turn to Mary, for her name means also “Sea of Bitterness which has been filled with sharp pain in this world but which is now turned into a Sea of the Purest Joy in heaven,” and she will turn your sorrow to joy and your afflictions into consolation.

Have you lost the state of grace? Praise and honor the numberless graces with which God has filled the Blessed Virgin and say to her: Thou art full of grace and filled with all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and she will give you some of these graces.

Are you all alone, having lost God’s protection? Pray to Mary and say: “The Lord is with thee – and this union is far nobler and more intimate than that which He has with saints and the just – because thou art one with Him.  He is thy Son and His flesh is thy flesh; thou art united to the Lord because of thy perfect likeness to Him and by your mutual love – for thou art His mother.”  And then say to her: “The Three Persons of the Godhead are with thee because thou art the Temple of the Most Blessed Trinity,” and she will place you once more under the protection and care of the Almighty God.

Have you become an outcast and have you been accursed by God? Then say to Our Lady: “Blessed art thou above all women and above all nations, by thy purity and fertility; thou hast turned God’s maledictions into blessings for us,” and she will bless you.

Do you hunger for the bread of grace and the bread of life? Draw near to her who bore the Living Bread Which came down from heaven, and say to her: Blessed be the Fruit of thy Womb Whom thou hast conceived without the slightest loss of thy virginity, Whom thou didst carry without discomfort and to Whom thou didst give birth without pain.  Blessed be Jesus Who has redeemed our suffering world when we were in the bondage of sin, Who has healed the world of its sickness, Who has raised the dead to life, brought home the banished, restored sinners to a life of grace and Who has saved men from damnation.”  Without doubt, your soul will be filled with the bread of grace in this life and of eternal glory in the next. Amen.

How Could I Forget

How could I forget?

That I am a creature of so much need,

And my soul needs feeding.

Oh, how could I forget?

The opportune time for recapturing,

The space to build the gift of humanity,

And the time for remembering.

Have I forgotten of my own duty?

It is a day not to be a routine,

But a day of divine loving and wondering.

Have I forgotten all about it?

For if, it became a day of a same old routine,

It will never become a day of opportunity,

An opportunity that is life changing

Teach Me To Love

I could never describe your love for me,

For many years I had been searching,

For my life to have meaning,

And you became my very being.

How could I not known?

For a love that goes so strong,

The love forever I long,

I found that in you alone.

The breath of life you gave,

And you showed me who I am,

The sins of man you forgave,

And bring new life despite my fallen state.

Oh, how dangerous is the crime,

To ever fall into my own pride,

To have eyes but blind,

To have ears but deaf to cries.

What would become of me?

If my heart is shutting,

And there is no place for mercy,

What a shame, cause I would be nothing.

Then teach me to love,

Teach me to be humble,

Save me from my own wretchedness,

Forgive my unworthiness.

If to see you is to love others,

Help me to rise above my human weakness,

Make the passing of my every moment,

Be my answer to your call to love the unlovable.

Your love forever will stay,

Your love will I embrace,

My life will never be the same,

Everyday will be a brand new day.

By knowing you, I could love you,

My love for you grew because I understood,

You showed me love and your truth,

In you, I found my refuge.

How could I stop searching?

How could I stop loving?

With your spirit guiding,

I continue to search the depths within.

For who I am, if I am not yours?

Despite of this poor soul,

It belongs to you, that I know,

The bond you created that gave me hope.
